Experience

Strategist

Solidarity of Unbridled Labour
2020 -
Burlington, Vermont

Solidarity of Unbridled Labour is a world-renowned brand strategy agency operating out of Burlington, Vermont. Working across all sectors of business internationally,  we have pioneered the Living Brand™ approach to strategic brand marketing.

From pitch decks that have raised millions of dollars to ground-up brand and communication platforms for massive institutions, I have directed and overseen traditional print, digital, social, video, and experiential work across countless sectors.

At Solidarity I am the only strategist. Working closely  with account directors and graphic designers I direct diverse work from immersion and ideation to delivery and cross channel deployment.

Director of Marketing
Trace
2018 - 2020
Vermont

Trace is a seed to sale tracking software start-up for the CBD and cannabis industries. I was brought on to establish the brand and messaging and to follow through with their effort to become the first blockchain based regulatory software adopted by a US state government.

First, I directed a brand and communication platform that was as effective with working farmers as it was with Vermont politicians and business owners. I went on to activate that brand strategy across events, social media, print media, digital advertisements, a blog, video content,  direct client outreach, investor outreach, and much more. Using market research, competitive set immersion, and customer outreach,  we kept our marketing strategy agile and up to date with every part of our constantly evolving product while using SEO and ceaseless design improvement to keep things on track.

I oversaw  a small international team of social media experts, graphic designers, and a sales team in collaboration with the engineers developing our software based on insight we gained doing market research.

After a year and a half of hard work Trace was awarded the contract and became the first blockchain based software company adopted as a regulatory service by any state government.

Brand Director
Wintermute
2016 - 2019
New York City

Wintermute was a CBD and product brand operating out of New York City. Collaborating with my partner, an organic cannabis grower in Vermont, I delivered a complete brand platform and product line from naming, logo design, messaging, social media, point of purchase displays, packaging, and web. Wintermute steadily expanded to be carried by more than two dozen retailers across New York City and New England.

I directly managed a small team of social media experts, graphic and industrial designers, as well as sales people across three states.

Wintermute was ultimately sold and continues to exist in the form of Hey Bud.

Glass Blower & Marketing Director
Ao Glass
2014 - 2016
Burlington, Vermont

I began my work at AO as a glassblower but shortly took charge of their marketing efforts, evolving their brand strategy, updating their look and feel, website, and sales approach.
In two years we expanded from a small retail presence to an international production house. They still use the website and design platform I helped them develop.

Trace

Trace is a seed to sale tracking solution for the cannabis and CBD industry. In an emerging market threatened by vestiges of a black market past, trust was critical for the industry as a whole; cutting edge blockchain technology provided the solution demanded by state government, law enforcement, producers, and consumers.

The first blockchain based software solution adopted by a state government, Trace provides an immutable chain-of-custody record from grower to consumer, keeping all participants safe and secure.

Brought on as marketing director early on, I retained the international design firm Solidarity of Unbridled Labour to collaborate on the brand platform, and look & feel for Trace. Mikey Lavi and John Siddle produced exceptional design work based on our deep research and knowledge of the field.

From web, to social and in-person events I guided the design and communication assets that first secured the $350,000 seed round that produced the technology itself, followed by the state contract that kept the business running to this day.
